Vanessa Terrell, of Raleigh, North Carolina departed this life on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Rex Hospital after a brief illness. Mrs. Terrell was born on July 28, 1958 to Bernice Justice-Taylor.
Vanessa attended school in the Wake County Public School Systems. After high school, she worked within the Wake County Public School Systems and also served within the hospitality industry.
Vanessa was a wonderful wife, loving mother and daughter, caring sister, and a great friend. She will be missed by all because she was loved by many.
Vanessa was preceded in death by her adoptive father and mother, John and Susie Jones of Raleigh, NC; one brother, Willie James McDonald of Washington, DC; and one sister, Ruth Bridges of Washington, DC.
Vanessa is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, Steve Terrell of the home; six children, Michelle Jones-Conyers (Roger), Elizabeth Terrell, Steve Terrell II, Lawyette Terrell, Tia Terrell, and Sharliss Terrell all of Raleigh, NC; eleven grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; one sister, Sadie Mae Glover of Raleigh, NC; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Her Homegoing Celebration will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 1:00 PM in the C A Haywood, Sr. Memorial Chapel. 2415 South Wilmington St., Raleigh, NC, preceded by a 12:30 PM visitation. On Tuesday May 25, 2021 there will be a public "walk through" viewing from 2 PM to 8 PM at the Funeral Home. The interment will follow immediately after the service at Carolina Biblical Gardens, 1530 Creech Rd., Garner, NC.
