Shannon Arlene Chesney, age 42, of Raleigh, North Carolina, gained her heavenly wings on September 4, 2025. She was a woman filled with joy, love, and strength—qualities that touched everyone blessed to know her.
Born to William Pullen and the late Shirley Pullen, Shannon grew up with her sisters, creating bonds that would last a lifetime. She had a personality that shined bright and a laugh so contagious it could lift anyone’s spirit. Her presence alone could light up a room, and her spirit was a source of comfort to all around her.
Shannon was a devoted mother, and her children were the pride and joy of her life. She leaves behind three beloved children: Neveah Chesney, Destiny Chesney, and William “Tre’shaun” Chesney. Becoming a grandmother brought her endless happiness, and she treasured every moment spent with her grandson, De’Kari McKoy.
Shannon shared a meaningful bond with her spouse, Keith “Kindu” Smith. She built a family grounded in love, laughter, and resilience—values that will continue to carry on through those she leaves behind.
She was preceded in death by her mother and her older sister Tammy Lassiter, whom she now joins in eternal peace. She is survived by her father, William Pullen; her sisters, Erica Perry and Ann Johnson; nieces, Lauryn Lassiter, Dajah Perry, and Samiyah Johnson; her nephew, Kamen Perry; and a host of extended family members and friends who loved her dearly.
Shannon’s life was a testament to joy and perseverance. She was a woman who laughed freely, loved deeply, and gave unselfishly. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew her, and her spirit will continue to shine through her children, grandson, and the many lives she touched.
Though her earthly journey has ended, her memory remains a blessing. We thank God for the time we shared and the love she poured into us all.
Shannon is survived by her father, William Pullen of Raleigh, NC; two daughters, Neveah Chesney of Fayetteville, NC and Destiny Chesney of Raleigh, NC; one son, William Chesney of Fayetteville, NC and one grandson, De Kari Chesney-McKoy of Fayetteville, NC.
Funeral service at 2:30 PM Sunday September 14, 2025 at the C.A. Haywood, Sr. Memorial Chapel preceded by a 1:30 PM visitation.
