Samuel Manuel Obituary

Mr. Samuel Manuel, 63, of Raleigh, NC departed this earthly life on Saturday March 11, 2023.  Samuel was born in Raleigh North Carolina on May 30, 1959 to the late James Manuel, Sr. and Laura Manuel.  He lived all of his life in Raleigh, North Carolina.  While growing up ‘Sammy’ as he was called enjoyed hanging around his older brother James.  He attended elementary, junior high and high school in Raleigh; in fact he graduated from Needham Broughton High School in 1978.

After graduating high school Sammy pursued several career paths.  In fact he worked at Spring Moore Rest Home, where he met the love of his live, Mary Tyler.  After a while at Spring Moore Rest Home, Sammy decided to venture into another career with Allgood Cafe.  His service at Allgood Cafe was very noticeable.  His hard work and dedication was another strong attribute of Sammy.  Then, he made another career change.  This time he made a career change to Home Wood Suites where his professionalism, kind heart and willingness to perform his duties in the utmost and timely manner were captivating.  During his entire career path Sammy enjoyed his work.  He was always ready and eager to learn.  Sammy was just an all- around pleasant person to work with.  His infectious smile and loving personality just made the entire work experience a pleasant journey for him and everyone he worked with and around.

Sammy married Mary Tyler in 1997.  Sammy enjoyed shopping a lot with his wife, Mary.  He also enjoyed hanging out with his childhood friends.  His favorite past time was riding his moped until his moped and the neighbor’s mail box met each other.  He also enjoyed watching television and going to church.  Sammy was a member of Oak City Baptist Church.  He joined the church as an adult, and enjoyed attending services with his wife Mary and, on occasions, with his mother (before she passed).  He was a family man.  Before passing he told his brother he would like to visit him and have him grill him a steak as he had done in the past.  He was looking forward to visiting his brother in High Point, North Carolina so he could grill him another steak.  Enjoying good food was another favorite past time of Sammy’s.  He was an all-around family man.  He enjoyed his wife, mother, brother, sister-in-law and other family members.

Samuel is survived by his wife Mary Tyler Manuel and his brother James Manuel (Madeliene) High Point, North Carolina.  He also leaves behind many cousins, friends and spiritual brothers and sisters of the church. His generous, kind heart, pleasant personality and infectious smile will be greatly missed by family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts, and uncles.
