Robyn Lewis

Today, our hearts are broken as we mourn the loss of our beautiful “baby” sister, Robyn.  Her bright light and big heart left us too soon, but we will always remember her joy, love and sweetness. 

Robyn Alena Lewis, 49, of Cary, North Carolina departed this earthly life on Saturday February 4, 2023.   Robyn was born on August 28, 1973 in Columbus, Ohio.  She was the fourth of four daughters born to Richard and the late Martha Lewis.  She grew up, her formative years in Denver, Colorado before moving to North Carolina in middle school. 

Robyn attended William G. Enloe High School in Raleigh, NC where she enjoyed swim team and dance.  After high school, she attended UNC Greensboro where she served as an Ambassador and was a member of the Spartan G’s Dance Team.   Robyn graduated from UNCG in 1996 with a BS in Human Development & Family Studies with a minor in Business and Health Studies. 

After graduating, Robyn enjoyed 24 years in her career in the learning and development field.  At the time of her passing, Robyn was a Learning Program Manager for the Technical Services division of Alphanumeric Systems, Inc, based in Raleigh.  Even though she worked in the Tech industry, Robyn's career combined her strong tech knowledge with her innate understanding of Adult Education.  Robyn's career started as a Microsoft trainer; she was a regional road dog, driving to various clients and providing training classes on Microsoft Office products.  Over the years, her career encompassed both people and program management.  Robyn's talents were a true blend of both parents.

Robyn was also a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend.  Affectionately known as Robbie or R4, she was a sweet, thoughtful and kind-hearted spirit.  Robyn was the Lewis Sister "Vault".  She was the keeper of all secrets!  Whether she knew the secret because she was with us when it happened, or we had a quiet personal moment and shared it with her later, she knew all the secrets.  And she kept them.  

Her love for dogs resulted in the adoption of a Great Dane she named Krykett, whose resting place will be alongside Robyn. 

Robyn is preceded in death by her mother Martha Hodges Lewis.  She will forever be missed, loved and cherished by her father Richard; sisters Rhea, Rikki, and Rana (William); her nieces and nephews Nia, Melena, Trey and William; and a host of other extended relatives and friends.

While this is a very painful loss, we have comfort in knowing she is at the right hand of the Lord, reunited with our mother and her beloved Krykett.   

Her Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Wake Memorial Park (Mausoleum) at 11:00 AM, 7002 Green Hope School Road, Cary, NC. 27519.  Interment immediately follows the service.
