Grimes-Hines, 70, of Washington, DC, departed this earthly life on Thursday October 17, 2024.  Funeral service 12:00 PM Saturday October 26, 2024 at Mount Peace Baptist Church, 1601 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Raleigh, NC 27610. A viewing and visitation begins at 11:30 AM prior to the service. The public viewing is scheduled for Friday October 25, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Haywood Funeral Home, 2415 South Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC 27603. Entombment to follow the service at Carolina Biblical Gardens, 1530 Creech Road, Garner, NC 27529

Survivors: daughter, Candice Hines of Washington, DC; two sons, Charles Dunlap of Jackson Springs, NC, and Khaleel Shakir of Rocky Mount, NC; three sisters, Evangeline January of Raleigh, NC, Iris Sanders and Amanda Sanders both of Wake Forest, NC; two brothers, Ernest Grimes of Raleigh, NC and Alvin Grimes both of Raleigh, NC; three grandsons, Cashton Hines, Casen Dunlap, and Chance Dunlap all of Washington, DC.
