Knowing that the body is a temporary home for the spirit, and that death is only the door we must walk through to a glorious eternity with our Father, we the family of Neal Monroe Mangum send forth this last tribute, his obituary, with our legacy of love.
Neal was born to the late John Crosby Mangum and Estelle Caudle Mangum on November 26, 1946 in Wake County, North Carolina.
Early Wednesday morning, February 10, 2021 Neal Monroe Mangum, laid aside his earthly tabernacle to go be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Neal joined New Light Baptist Missionary Church, at an early age. He gave his life to Christ later in life.
Neal will truly be missed by family, relatives, and friends.
Neal was educated by the Wake County Public School System. He loved to watch black and white television shows, enjoyed cooking and he loved his dog.
Neal met and was united in Holy Matrimony to Julia Bullock, to this union he was blessed with two stepdaughters: Renee and Melinda.
Neal leaves encouraged memories to His Stepdaughters: Renee Cates and Melinda Burts; His Siblings: Lenora M. Richardson, Cora Mangum, Jesse Mangum, James Mangum, Norfleet Mangum (Joyce), Mary Denning (George), Elsie Jones (Stanley); With warm thoughts, His siblings now deceased, Ida Mae Mangum, Johnny Crosby Mangum and Raymond Mangum. Also, His Loving Nieces and Nephews: Earl, Pat, Linda, Tim, Lynne, JD, Pecolia, Teresa, Jimmy, Marlo, Jonathan, Estelle, Liz, Dale, Valarie, Dion, Brian, Ian, Travis, Teran, George, Bryan, Rozena, Banita, April, Stanley Terrell, and Latez along with great nieces, great nephews, friends, and other relatives.

Funeral service at 12:00 noon Tuesday February 16, 2021 at the C.A. Haywood, Sr. Memorial Chapel preceded by an 11:30 AM visitation. Interment will follow the service at New Light Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 15408 New Light Road, Wake Forest, NC. A wake will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 PM Monday February 15, 2021 at Haywood Funeral Home.
