Mrs. Lillian Louise Hinton, was born September 24, 1921, to the late Axum Hinton and Pearl Whitaker Hinton in Wake County, North Carolina. She departed this earthly life on January 22, 2020 at 12:22AM at the Duke Raleigh Hospital on Wake Forest Road, Raleigh, North Carolina.
Lillian attended the public schools in Wake County. She joined Poplar Springs Christian Church at an early age. She was active and participated in many ministries, such as the Annie Bell Davis Fellowship Ministry, the New Generation Choir, the Missionary Ministry, the Kitchen Committee, and the Pastor's Aide while she was able.
Lillian was married to the late John B. Hinton for 64 years. She raised a special niece, Irene Sprueil Cooper as her own.
Lillian is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and nine siblings.
Our dear Lillian leaves to cherish her memories her special niece, Irene S. Cooper; two great nieces, Jonelle Craig of Baltimore, MD, and Candice Cooper of Virginia Beach, VA; great nephew, Dylan Lunday; one sister, JoAnn Hinton; one brother, Jimmy Ray Hinton, all of Raleigh, NC: and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Poplar Springs Christian Church, 6115 Old Stage Road, Raleigh, NC at 2:00 PM with visitation preceding the service at 1:30 PM. Interment takes place in the church cemetery. Public viewing will take place on Friday, January 24, 2020 at Haywood Funeral Home from 2-8 PM.
