Kizzie Jane Pemberton Johnson, 97, of Raleigh, NC departed this earthly existence on Sunday, June 7, 2026.  Funeral service at 12:00 noon Tuesday June 16, 2026 at Amanah Rush Metropolitan AME Zion Church, 554 E. Cabarrus Street, Raleigh, NC preceded by an 11:30 AM visitation.  Interment will follow the service at Carolina Biblical Gardens.

She was preceded in death by her husband Evander Johnson; son Vincent Johnson and daughter-in-law Hetty K. Johnson; Brothers Edgar Pemberton, Jr.; John R. Pemberton (Mattie Bell), Roosevelt Pemberton, Alexander Pemberton; Sisters Carrie Armstrong, Clara Armstrong, Yvonnie Hall, Alexander Pemberton

Survivors:  sons Leander Johnson of Clayton, NC, Chris Johnson and Marvin Johnson of Raleigh, NC; granddaughters Erica Johnson of Clayton, NC, Angel Mills of Raleigh, NC; grandson Marcus Johnson (Canetta) of Angier, NC; great granddaughters Elysse "Lele" Johnson of Clayton, NC, Nyla Johnson of Angier, NC, and Heaven Mills of Raleigh, NC; great grandsons Marcus Johnson, Jr. of Angier, NC, Frederick Williams, and Josiah Mills both of Raleigh, NC, Sister, Mattie P. Mayhue (Leonard), Jackson Springs, NC, Cousin/Niece Cynthia Cogdell of Brooklyn, NY. And a host of Nieces and Nephews.
