Kimberly “Kim” Valencia James was
born in Fort Knox, Kentucky on March 5, 1983 to Candace
Lewis James and the late Anthony James. As a young child,
Kim and her family relocated to North Carolina. She was educated
in the Wake County Public schools and graduated from
Garner Senior High in 2002. She later attended Wake Technical
College.
Kim dearly loved of her family. She never hesitated
to baby-sit her siblings and cousins throughout their childhood.
They all can say she was loving but she also disciplined when
needed. She never pre-occupied herself with, “I” or “Me”,
thinking of herself more highly than others. Instead, she was
humble at heart and always ready to take the “least of all seat”.
Kim believed in God, gave her life to Christ and was
baptized in 2008. She attended The Lord’s Church Worship
Center (TLCWC), where she rededicated her life to Christ in
December 2020.
Kim loved fashion and design, which led to her becoming
a representative for Paparazzi and Avon.
Kimberly “Kim” Valencia James transitioned,
unexpectedly from labour to reward on Sunday, May
2, 2021. Along with her father, she was also preceded in death
by her maternal grandfather, Sherman Lewis and her maternal
grandmother, Nannie McCoy. Kim will be fondly remembered
by her beloved family: her son, Joseph; her mother, Candace
James; her siblings, Simon, James lll, Jeremiah, and John; a
special niece, Jordyn; and a host of other relatives and friends who dearly loved her.
