Joseph Edwards

Joseph Edwards departed his earthly life on June 11, 2020. He was born on February 17, 1945 in Cary, NC to Hudie Evans and Geneva Edwards.

Joseph was formally educated in Wake County Public School System. He was drafted in the United States Army in 1966.  Joseph was united in holy matrimony to Lucille Edwards. To this union, three children were born, Joseph Gregory, Tracy Lucindy and Rosaline Caroline. Joseph loved to fish, work on cars and travel. He was a Welder Supervisor with Rockwell, Inc. for many years.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Hudie Evans and Geneva Edwards; grandmother, Ellen Boone Edwards; grandfather, Herman Edwards; uncle, Eugene Edwards; and aunt, Eva Mae Edwards Utley.

Joseph leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Lucille Handon Edwards; one son, and two daughters, Joseph Gregory Edwards, Tracy Lucindy Edwards and Rosaline Caroline Edwards all of Raleigh, NC; four grandchildren, Tyler G. Edwards, Lauren Alexis Edwards, Lindsay Allison Edwards, and Tamia Iyonna Edwards; two great-grandchildren, Nyla Peeples and Taylor Edwards; and a host of other relatives and friends whom he loved dearly.

Funeral service at  11:00 AM on Tuesday June 16, 2020 at the C.A. Haywood, Sr. Memorial Chapel preceded by a 10:30 AM visitation.  Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens.  Viewing at Haywood Funeral Home on Monday June 15, 2020 from 2:00 - 6:00 PM .
