Jeffrey Alan Layton

Jeffrey Alan Layton,59 of Raleigh, N.C. died unexpectedly on May 5, 2020.

Jeff was born on April 8,1961 to the late John Edward Layton and Monika R. Kastner. He was married to Gail Ellen Mancuso for 33 years and is survived by his two sons Jonathan and Alan. Jeff is also survived by siblings Kevin Layton(Lisa)and Karen Farmer(Rob) along with nieces Kristy(Michael), Stephanie(Ryan)and Monika; his mother in law Elsie Mancuso, brother in-law Bernie(Fran), Briann(Jay)and James, Seth(Maggie) and Bella along with many other family members.

Jeff worked for Merrill Lynch in New York City prior to moving to the Outer Banks, NC in 1990. He started Layton Landscaping and later a Pool and Spa service company. The Outer Banks provided time for fishing along with spending time with the family and pursuing his love of cooking. Jeff joined Corolla Fire and Rescue as a volunteer and served many years as Assistant Chief.  Jeff then became a basic EMT and was grateful for the opportunity to serve the people of Corolla.

When Jeff moved to Raleigh he returned to school to become an IT tech. At the time of his death he was employed with HCL America Inc. Those who knew Jeff will miss him terribly and he will always remain in our hearts. The family has decided to have a Celebration of Life at a later date when it is safe for everyone to be together.
