Gayle Lee (Conaway) Haines

Gayle Lee (Conaway) Haines, 90, born in Pittsburgh, PA in 1935, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025 at Highfield Rehabilitation Center, Cary , North.Carolina. Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William Haines and their two sons, Jeffery and Christopher Haines. Gayle was a bright , top student in high school and again at Chatham College. Gayle was foremost a devoted mother who passed on her love of learning to her remarkable sons. Jeffery became the president of the National  Professional Genealogical Society.  Christopher was a well -known actor and owner of the Theatre Collaborative in Phoenix. Gayle led a 4H group for which she received multiple awards. She and Jeffery were contributing members of a Church in Raleigh where Jeff sang weekly, then members of Tabernacle Baptist Church .  Gayle is survived by her  brothers, Robert Conaway and William Conaway,a sister Cathy Senko, a brother Michael Conaway, nieces Martha Fischer, Jennifer Bruen ,Lisa Conaway, Astrid Senko; nephews Robbie Conaway, Bill Conaway, Jared Conaway, John Senko; a granddaughter Makala Close-Haines; two great granddaughters and many grand nieces and nephews. Gayle’s family would like to thank Pastor Glen and especially Alice Shedrick and Deacon Jimmy Faison for their years of care and friendship to Gayle .

 Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday August 27, 2025  at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 8304 Leesville Rd, Raleigh, N.Carolina 27613
