Eric Ricardo Cooper

Eric Ricardo Cooper (Ricky) was born March 8,1956 to the late William and Evelyn Cooper.
He departed this earthly life on January 23,2020 at Transition Hospice Care on Trinity Road in Raleigh
NC. At an early age Eric join Martin Street Baptist Church and later join Poplar Springs Christian
Church.

Eric was educated in the Raleigh Public Schools. He graduated from Broughton High School in 1974.
He attended Saint Augustine College.. He went on to work for Wake County ABC store.. Eric purchased
his own cab and went into business for himself under Acme cab company for several years until he was
employed by The City of Raleigh where he retired in 2018.

Eric leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Martha Ruth Cooper; 2 sons, Eric R. Cooper
Jr.(Sheena) of Durham, NC, and Isiah J. Barber of Raleigh NC; 1 daughter, Marlicia R. Barber of
Charlotte NC; 2 sisters, Sadie Harris of Takoma Park, MD, and Sandra Hill (Eric) of Fort Washington MD;
3 brothers, William (Breeze) Cooper (Eleanor) of Raleigh, NC, Joel Dempsey of Nashville, NC, and Rolland
Dempsey (Ingrid) of Reno, Nevada; 3 grandchildren, Banks Maxwell, Tatum Cooper and Isiah
Barber, Jr.

Eric also leaves to cherish his memories 3 sisters-in law and 6 brothers in-law and a host of nieces,
nephews and other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life at 11:30 AM  Friday, January 31, 2020 at Poplar Springs Christian Church, 6115 Old Stage Road, Raleigh, NC preceded by an 11:00 AM visitation.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
