Dr. Armayne Garinetta Dunston

Dr. Armayne Garinetta Dunston, born June 9, 1944, departed this earthly life on September 6, 2022. Dr. Dunston was a retired Board Certified Physician specializing in Internal Medicine and Administration. She was a unique and respected member of many communities, serving in several organizations including the Raleigh (NC) chapter of The Links Incorporated.  Her passion for supporting the reentry of formerly incarcerated women into regular life stems from her work as Chief Medical Director for the North Carolina Correctional Institute for Women. 

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday September 11, 2022 at Rush Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church, 558 East Cabarrus Street, Raleigh, NC 27601.  Prior to the service a viewing and visitation is scheduled beginning at 12:00 PM.  There will not be a public viewing on Saturday.  Interment will be completed at 12:00 PM, Monday September 12, 2022 at Evergreen Cemetery, 2124 New Walkertown Road, Winston Salem, NC 27101.
