Deacon Ray Sherwin Debnam, Sr.

Deacon Ray S. Debnam, Sr. 81, departed this earthly existence on Tuesday January 21, 2025.  Funeral service at 12:00 noon Thursday January 30, 2025 at Watts Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 3703 Tryon Road, Raleigh, NC preceded by an 11:00 AM visitation.  Interment will follow the service at Montlawn Memorial Park.  Viewing from 2:00 - 5:00 PM Wednesday January 29, 2025 at Haywood Funeral Home.

Deacon Debnam is survived by his wife Carolyn T.E. Debnam of Raleigh, NC, two sons; Ray Sherwin Debnam, II (Melody Graham) of Charlotte, NC and Brian Chesley Steward Debnam (Tiffany Cales) of Wake Forest, NC; three sisters, Josephine Debnam Drayton (Wallace) and Robbie Lorraine Graham (Horace), both of Raleigh, NC. and Cynthia Debnam Bussey of Acworth, Georgia.; two sisters-in law, Gwenn L. Clements (Michael) and Cynthia Steward; two brothers William Debnam (Louise) of Los Angeles, California and Wesley Debnam (Janice Loving) of  Marietta, Georgia; three granddaughters, Madison Olivia Debnam, and Karsyn Lilybeth Debnam both of Charlotte, NC, and Harper Kennedy Elizabeth Debnam of Wake Forest, NC.; two grandsons, Gabriel Augustus Debnam and Lochlan Asher Debnam both of Charlotte, NC; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
