Deacon David Leon Jenkins, Sr., 75, of Garner, NC departed this earthly life on Friday June 21, 2024.  Funeral Service at 11:00 AM Thursday June 27, 2024, in the C A Haywood, Sr. Memorial Chapel, 2415 South Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC 27603. Public viewing Wednesday June 26, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Haywood Funeral Home.  A visitation is scheduled prior to the service beginning at 10:30 AM.  Interment follows the service at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, 164 Longs Plant Farm Road, Goldsboro, NC 27534.

Survivors: Wife, Caletha Denise Jenkins of Garner, NC; Daughter, Caletha Deannine Jenkins of Garner, NC; Sons, David L. Jenkins, Jr.  of Garner, NC, and Walter Jerrod Jenkins (Michelle) of Ayden, NC; (6) Grandchildren, Hunter, Amber, Alyssa, Haylee, Hatteras, and Hensley; (6) Great-grandchildren; Alina, Harper, Axel, Hudson, Oakley, and Mason; Daughter-in-law, Vickie; devoted niece, Regina Williams; siblings, Mary Gibbs, Doris Holden, Delores Moses (Mike), and Edith Debnam (Joshua); devoted brothers-in-law, Thomas Mattison and Thomas Freeman, II; Special Friend for Life, Deacon Percy Lee Parker.
