David Alfred Randolph

David Alfred Randolph was the first-born of four children to the late Sandy and Virginia Randolph on July 2, 1949 and was summoned to be with the Lord on December 29, 2023. David’s early education was in the public schools of Queens County, New York. After high school he relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina where he attended Shaw University. While attending Shaw University, David met his wife of 47 years, Georgette Greene. They were blessed with three daughters.

David’s passion for landscaping was demonstrated throughout his employment with Raleigh Housing Authority. He loved spending time outside whether it was cutting grass or pruning the hedges and fuss if anybody walked on his manicured lawn. David even instilled in his daughters how to mow the lawn much to their dismay but was later a symbol of pride for them to drive up to a perfectly manicured lawn labored with the love of their father.

David’s love of learning God’s Word was planted in him through his early teachings at Calvary Baptist Church in Jamacia, New York. David loved learning God’s Word and would dedicate hours to studying the Word of God as well as attending multiple bible studies.  David was a member of New Bethel Christian Life of Raleigh, NC.

Remaining to cherish his memory are his wife Georgette Randolph of Raleigh, stepmother Joan Anderson of Hempstead, NY, daughters Virginia (Raymond) Goodman of Suffolk, Virginia, Leslie (Gregory) Peterson of Charleston, South Carolina, and Serena (Johnnie) Rowe of Raleigh, North Carolina;  sisters Sandra Randolph of Orlando Florida, and Patricia Randolph Shane of Jamaica, New York; , and brother Edward Randolph of Albany, New York;  six grandchildren: Lesiana Randolph, Jace Rowe, and Jade Rowe all of Raleigh, North Carolina;  Rahlee and Ryann Peterson of Charleston South Carolina, and Grace Randolph of Suffolk, Virginia.

 Funeral service at 10;30 am Saturday January 6, 2024 at New Bethel Christian Church, 4307 Old Poole Road, Raleigh, NC preceded by a 10:00 am visitation.  Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens.  Public viewing from 2:00 - 8:00 pm Friday January 5, 2024 at Haywood Funeral Home.
