Ms. Daisy Peguese, 91, of Raleigh, NC departed this earthly life on Saturday August 15, 2020.
Beginning: On early Saturday morning August 15, 2020, Daisy Blanche, affectionately called Daisy “B”, went from labor to reward. She was born to Barney and LuAnnie Whitley on August 27, the eleventh child and baby of the family, in Wendell, North Carolina.
Education: At an early age, Daisy received her education in the North Carolina and the DC Metropolitan areas.
Church: Daisy joined New Bethel Church in 1987. She moved her membership to Oak City Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member until her health declined. She was a member of the Raleigh Safety Club and several charitable organizations.
Employment: Daisy worked for Hillhaven Convalescent Home. In 1998, she retired after twenty years of loyal service.
Personality/Hobbies: Daisy was known for her quick-wit and had the ability to make you laugh. She loved God, her family and her community. She enjoyed sewing, canning, gardening, cooking, and entertaining. Christmas was her favorite holiday and she loved decorating during that time.
Family: On July 15, 1950, she married the late Robert Lee Peguese and became an army wife and to this union, three children were born.
Preceded in Death: Daisy was preceded in death by her parents, Barney and LuAnnie Whitely; siblings, Josephine Horton, Arsine Hollis, Otha Whitley, Nellie Hicks, Otis Whitley, Christiana Dewar, Rufus Whitley, Ozelle Ross, Rada Pitts, and Bishop Calvin Whitley; and sister-in-law, Mary L. Whitley.
Cherished Memories: Daisy leaves to cherish her memory her two daughters, Connie Wise, (Billy) of Raleigh, and Brenda Blaylock (Willie) of the home; son, Christopher Peguese of Greenville, NC; three grandchildren, David Johnson, and Marvin Johnson both of Syracuse, NY, and Arsyne Martin of Raleigh, NC; five great-grandchildren, Kynnedi Martin of Raleigh, Ebony Finn, Malcolm Johnson, Shan Johnson, and Dayla Johnson all of Syracuse, NY; one great-greatgrandchild, Amiyah Johnson of Syracuse, NY; special nieces, Lumazelle Blake of Fort Washington, MD and Angela Dawson of Raleigh; special nephew, Bamoni Spearman of Raleigh; special friend, Mrs. Ethel M. Johnson of Raleigh; devoted friends, Mrs. Juanita Alston and Ms. Mellissa Skinner both of Raleigh; and a host of nieces
"A PRIVATE FAMILY ONLY" Homegoing service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday August 25, 2020 at the C.A. Haywood, Sr. Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow the service at Montlawn Memorial Park. There will be no public viewing.
