Corina Evans Rogers of Raleigh, NC departed this life on Thursday July 23, 2020. She was born on October 10, 1920 according to her birth certificate, but we had always celebrated her birthday as July 10, 1920. She was the daughter of the late John Evans and Eva Bledsoe Evans.
Corina was preceded in death by her husband Victor Rogers, brothers Charles, Reuben, Joe, and Owen, sisters Carnary and Anliza, and children Victor Rogers and Ozie Cooper.
Corina who was affectionately known as Brent was educated in the Wake County Public School System. She was a founding member and trustee, church treasurer and usher of the Pentecostal House of Prayer. She was gainfully employed as a domestic worker until retirement. Corina enjoyed cooking and entertaining her family. She was an example of a Proverbs 31 Woman of God!
She leaves to cherish her memories: daughters, Eva, Dorothy, and Nevelan. She was blessed to have seen four generations of family. Eighteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren and twelve graet -grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the C.A. Haywood Sr. Memorial Chapel, 2415 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC. Visitation will precede the service at 10:30 AM. Interment takes place at Raleigh Memorial Park, Raleigh NC. Public viewing will take place on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Haywood Funeral Home from 2-8 PM.
