Claude Edward Watkins

Mr. Claude E. Watkins, 88, of Durham, NC departed this earthly life on Monday, July 1, 2019.  Claude, a Raleigh native, retired from the US Army as a Master Sergeant after a twenty-seven year career.  During his career, he received assignments that carried him around the world and worked with several generals.  Significantly, he served in the Korean and Vietnam wars, earning the prestigious Bronze Star. for his valor in the latter war.  Upon retiring from the Army, Claude returned to North Carolina and settled in Durham.

There will be a viewing and family visitation at 10:00 AM on Friday July 5, 2019 followed by a Celebration of His Life at 11:00 AM in the C A Haywood, Sr. Memorial Chapel, 2415 South Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC. The final resting place will be at Carolina Biblical Gardens, 1530 Creech Road, Garner, NC, where Claude will receive full Military Honors for his 27 years of service.
