On Friday, February 5, 2021 God called one of his special angels, Chrystal Charmaine Gerald to her heavenly home to claim her wings.

Chrystal was a very beautiful and loving soul with a wonderful spirit.  She had an aura of love and gentleness that surrounded her.  She loved her family dearly and touched many lives, especially doting on her two nephews, Marqui Jr (M.J.) and Christian, both the apple of her eye. 

Chrystal loved to travel.  She graduated from E.E. Smith High School, Class of 1988, and afterwards attended Bennett College in Greensboro, N.C.  She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, N.C., and later received her MBA degree from Strayer University in Baltimore, MD.  Chrystal’s career path included being an accountant for the Marriott Hotel and a valued member of Fidelity Insurance Company for many years.

Chrystal leaves to mourn her passing, father Earl Thornton, Jr. of Raleigh, NC, brother Marqui R. Gerald, Sr. of Fayetteville N.C., uncle Robert R. Gerald, Jr. (Mellinae) of Fayetteville, NC, aunt Linda Charmaine Gerald-Houston of Hollywood, CA, uncle Dock B. Gerald (Mary) of Inglewood, CA, uncle Christopher Council (Jennifer) of Fayetteville, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends to include special friends Theresa Harvey of Clayton, NC., and Rosalyn Sands of Durham, NC.

Chrystal was preceded in death by her mother, Romana Ann Gerald-Thornton, uncle Thomas Gerald, Sr., grandfather Robert R. Gerald, Sr., grandmother Marie Gerald, and special aunt to all of us, Mary W. Hansbro.
