Obituary
Mr. Charles Gilbert Sawyer departed this earthly life on March 9, 2022. He is survived by his wife, Elaine Sawyer, and five children, Folomi Cook, Quentin Scott, Sherie Powell, Romaine Sturges, and Lorraine Stills. His service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 18, 2022 at New Bethel Christian Church, 4307 Old Poole Road, Raleigh, NC 27610. A 10:00 AM visitation is scheduled prior to the service. The Masonic Lodge will perform last rites at 10:30 AM. ... On Thursday, March 17, 2022, a "walk through" public viewing will be held from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Haywood Funeral Home, 2415 South Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC 27603. His Interment will be in the Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia at a later date.
