Brian Christopher Davis

Mr. Brian Christopher Davis, 43, of Cary, NC departed this earthly life on Monday June 3, 2019. 

Memorial service 12:00 noon Thursday June 13, 2019 at Watts Chapel Baptist Church, 3703 Tryon Road, Raleigh, NC preceded by an 11:00 AM visitation.

Brian Christopher Davis was born on May 31, 1976, in LaGrange, Georgia, to Jackie and Pamela Yancey Davis. He transitioned from this life on earth to heaven on June 3, 2019, in Raleigh, North Carolina, with his loving family by his side.

Brian (a.k.a. B, B-Love, B-Supreme and B. Davis) grew up loving sports, including football and lacrosse, but basketball was his passion. His favorite player was LeBron James, especially when he took his talents to the Miami Heat.

Following the family’s move from Newburgh, New York, to Cary, North Carolina, in the early 1990s, Brian was a star point guard on the Cary High School basketball team, which made it all the way to the state championship. Many of his best and most enduring relationships came from this bond of brothers. He graduated from Cary High in 1994 and attended North Carolina A & T State University.

Brian loved caring for people and making them smile. He turned that—and a knack for making people feel comfortable—into a career in the hospitality and service industry. He loved dancing, music (90s-era hip-hop and R&B were his jams), the North Carolina State Wolfpack and the Atlanta Falcons.

The best day of Brian’s life was November 18, 2014, when his son, Julian William Davis was born. He loved spending his days with his son (whom he affectionately called, “Butchie”), taking walks, swimming, riding his four-wheeler, and watching Julian's favorite TV shows. He got a good start on fatherhood by helping to raise his nephew, Jeremiah Carrington-Davis, playing video games and teaching him how to shoot hoops.

To Brian, family was everything. The love he had for his son, partner, parents, sister, brother and nephew is immeasurable. That love will carry on until they all meet again.

Brian was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Jesse Lee Davis, Sr. and Mary Alyce Gunn; and his maternal grandparents, William Yancey, and Anna and Robert Andrews.

Brian's beautiful life is survived by his son, Julian, and Julian's mother, Hannah Cobb, of Apex, North Carolina; his parents, Jackie and Pamela, of Cary; his sister, BreAnna Christina Davis, of Raleigh; his brother and sister-in-law, Brandon Courtney and Apollonia Davis, of High Point, North Carolina; his nephew, Jeremiah, of Raleigh; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
