Brenda Laverne Peebles

Brenda Laverne Peebles, 73, of Raleigh, NC departed this earthly life on Thursday December 14, 2023.  A Memorial Service is scheduled to be held at 11:00 AM Saturday December 23, 2023 in the C A Haywood, Sr. Memorial Chapel, 2415 South Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC. There will not be a viewing of Ms. Peebles prior to or at the service.  Her family kindly requests that flowers not be sent. 

Brenda Laverne Peebles was born on February 20, 1950, at St. Agnes Hospital in Raleigh to the late Millard R. Peebles, Sr., and the late Allie Muse Peebles. She attended St. Monica's Catholic School and John W. Ligon High School (class of 1968).  She went on to follow the family tradition by matriculating at Hampton Institute (now Hampton University). Brenda received a bachelor's degree in Marketing in 1972.  In 1973, she moved to Washington, D.C., and worked in the telecommunications industry. She ended her career as a technician for Verizon Communications and was one of few females in a male-dominated field. Brenda retired and moved back home and enjoyed spending time with her classmates, friends, and relatives. 

She is survived by her sister, Elaine Peebles Brown, her brother, Millard R. Peebles, Jr. (Brigitte), two nieces, a nephew, and a great-niece and great-nephew.
