Brenda Watson

Brenda Brown Watson, 71, departed this earthly life on Thursday, July 28, 2022.  Her Memorial service is scheduled for Friday,1:30 PM in the C A  Haywood, Sr. Memorial Chapel, 2415 South Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC. 

Brenda Brown Watson was predeceased by her father William Brown and her mother Mary Brown Jones. She leaves beautiful memories with her daughter Ashley Watson Kearney and devoted son-in-law Jordan Kearney along with her two grandchildren, Ayanna and Amir Kearney, as well as her godchildren Simone and Carlton Jr. High. Brenda also leaves behind her sisters Carolyn B. High, Yvonne Kiser (Robert Kiser), Mildred Turner, Norma J. Brown, Clara B. Moore (Johnny Moore), Francene B. Jackson and Lorna B. Jones as well as her three brothers, David Jones, Raymond Jones and Kenneth Jones. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.

Brenda was raised in Lynchburg Virginia where she attended Elementary school through high school, graduating from Dunbar High.

Ms. Brenda Watson moved to New York right after high school for quite a few years until deciding to move to Richmond VA. Brenda and her daughter Ashley lived in Richmond for a few years until she made Raleigh North Carolina her home.

Her career was in insurance at Great American Insurance Co. and The Redwoods Group until she retired in 2015.

Ms. Brenda never met a stranger. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, her contagious laughter, her enormous heart, and her sass and her wit. Brenda was greatly loved and will be greatly missed but she also leaves us all great memories.
