Bonita attended North Carolina Central University and was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She was a woman of strong faith and attended Christian Faith Baptist Church. She was very active in the church, participating in many ministries. She loved helping in any way she could, always with a smile on her face.
