He continued his education by receiving his Juris Doctor degree from North Carolina Central University School of Law located in Durham, NC in 1972.

Amos settled in Durham, NC for a few years following graduation where he met and married Christianna Brown Link on July 20, 1968. They were blessed with two children, Tracy Link and Shawn Link. Amos and his family relocated to Raleigh, NC in 1976. Amos joined Martin Street Baptist Church and later joined Wake Chapel Church where he remained a faithful member until his death. For many years, Amos specialized in criminal defense where he was known for his trial execution. Amos was an avid golf player and received multiple awards throughout his lifetime. He also enjoyed traveling and entertaining.

Amos' beautiful life will forever be cherished by his beloved daughter Tracy, his son Shawn, his daughter in his heart Latressa, his sister Barbara, brother in law William, and a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Amos Edward Link, Jr. was a loyal, dedicated, and supportive husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
