Tyrece Lee, Sr.

Tyrece Lee, Sr. was born in the "windy city" of Chicago, Illinois on "windy" March 15, 1958 to the late Hezie Dale and Alberta Lee Hill.  He graduated from Martin lUTHER kING hIGH sCHOOL IN 1977; being very atheletic, he received a "football scholarship" to Shaw University in Raleigh, NC and graduated from Shaw in 1983 earning a BS degree and was a member of Phi Beta Sigma, the blue and white IOTA chapter.

He attended and was baptised at Holy Spiritual Temple in Chicago where he was a very talented drummer.  He joined the Church of God of Prohecy in Raleigh, under the pastorate of the late Bis. Billy Siler; here he continued sharing his gifts as a drummer in the music ministry, sang in the State Street Mass Choir, and taught Sunday School until his illness.  In 1983 Tyrece and Deidre Richardson were united in holy matrimony and to this union are six beautiful children.

He was a dedicated employee of Durham Life Insurance Company, Independent Life Insurance Company and United Life Insurance Company for several years.Favorites include football "Duke" everything, westerns and grilling.

Cherished and wonderful memories are left with his wife Deidre "Dee Dee" of 38 years, and children, Jennifer Young (Dare) of Chicago, IL, LaShanda Lambertson (Trevor), Tyrece Lee, Jr., Jordan Lee, Terrance Lee, Tierra Lee, and Dominique Lee, and Ray Watson (godson) all of Raleigh, NC; grands, Shana, Kiya, Jermaine, Jamire, Kalen, Noah, Kennedy, and Alexander; brothers & sisters, David Lee (Rita), Willie Lee (Billy), Corine Lee, Alonzo Lee, Don Lee, Ruth Jackson-Stoxstell (Bill); and many, many other family and friends.

Funeral service at 12:00 noon Monday, March 25, 2019 at State Street Community Church, 1200 S. State Street, Raleigh, NC preceded by an 1130 AM visitation.  Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens.  Viewing from 2:00 - 8:00 PM Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Haywood Funeral Home.
