Clementine Weaver was born to the late Aaron Weaver Sr. and Espie Dollie Baldwin Weaver in Raleigh, North Carolina on May 11, 1933.

In 1950, Clementine graduated from Washington High School; and received a music scholarship to Saint Augustine University in Raleigh, NC completing two years. Due to her vast musical abilities, in 1952, she was invited to sing opera at the Governor’s Mansion. Being a refined and lovely young lady, Clementine entered a beauty pageant and won second place with Diahann Carroll (later a famous actress) placing third.

After college, Clementine attended beauty school and became great friends with Mr. Mitchell; the owner of the salon located in Southgate. Mr. Mitchell offered her the salon, to which she accepted. Clementine Weaver was able to continue and develop a business that flourished for 33 years. She loved putting a smile on their faces and bringing joy to her clients. In January 1967, Clementine had her son Gregory.

Clementine retired from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC as an experienced custodial manager. Upon retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her son, grandchildren great-grandchildren, and her special friends, Ms. Mary and Ms. Connie.

Clementine Weaver had several interests. She was an avid music lover. Her all-time favorite artist was none other than Luther Vandross. Additionally, Clementine loved to crochet! With Christmas being her favorite holiday, naturally red was her favorite color. She enjoyed sharing stories and reminiscing about her youth days, at special gatherings and events during Christmas with family and friends. Decorating the Christmas tree with beautiful ornaments and singing Christmas carols brought her immense delight.

She was described as a “giver “to the community; always helping anyone in need. Clementine, affectionately known as “Clem”, loved her family.

Clementine was preceded in death by her parents Aaron Weaver Sr. and Espie Dollie Baldwin Weaver, and her siblings Mildred Weaver, Dorothy Louise Weaver Overby, Mary Frances Weaver Seate, Equilla Weaver, Aaron Weaver Jr, and Thomas Jefferson Weaver.

Clementine leaves to cherish her memories: her loving son, Gregory (Darlene)Weaver, grandchildren Gregory “Mecos” Watkins, Orviona Weaver, and Tyler Renee Forbes, great-grandchildren Samaya Watkins and Gia Watkins; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews,  other relatives, and friends.
