Christelle Henderson, the daughter of the late Reverend James Dallas Judkins and Aurelia Judkins was born in Clayton, North Carolina. She became active in her family church at an early age, showing a great love of God. She received her early education in Johnston County Schools. As a young adult she attended Teacher's College in Washington, DC.
Christelle later married the late Percy henderson. To this union were born twin boys, Tyrone and Lerone Henderson. After the death of her husband she came to New York City and beacame an active member in Calvery Holiness Church where she received the gift of the Holy Ghost. She later joined Refuge Temple and worked faithfully in the upper room with the late Mother Doris Rawson. She was a missionary and an active member of the Gospel Chorus.
Christelle was a very quiet person. She explained her quiteness with the saying, "Living a quiet life helps you live more in the spirit than the flesh". Her favorite songs were "My Living Shall Not Be In Vain" and "May The Work I've Done Speak For Me".
Christelle leaves to cherish her memory: one son, Victor Lerone Henderson of New York, NY; one daughter-in-law, Vondelle Henderson of the Bronx, NY; six nephews; five nieces; fifteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many loving friends.
